Serious human rights violations and international crimes have been committed by security forces in Syria, since the 2011 conflict. The UN estimates that more than 300,000 civilians have died, including due to the use of chemical weapons, and at least 100,000 Syrians have been forcibly disappeared. Many Syrian citizens now seek truth and justice, following the fall of Bashar al-Assad, presenting a historic chance to collect direct evidence of the Syrian regime’s crimes for criminal accountability’s purposes. JAW will collaborate with Syrian and international organizations to promote human rights and ensure access to justice for the survivors of these crimes. We are currently organizing our programs and activities, after which more information will be provided on the website.
